Class Descriptions
Yoga Classes
A class that focuses on alignment and the finer details of the asanas. Each class follows a theme - one week we might focus on standings postures, other backbends, and the next on building strength.
You will receive individualised teaching, according to your experience and ability.
A class that helps counter the stresses and strains of daily life by cultivating attention on ease and relaxation. Props are used extensively to support the body so that we can hold poses for longer periods of time comfortably. The muscles are allowed to relax, the heart rate lowers and the nervous system can be soothed.
Prāṇāyāma (Prāna - breath, energy, life force; Ayāma - control, restraint, extension or expansion) consists of techniques designed to gain mastery over the respiratory processes. Classically, it is said to be the transition between the outer and the inner world.
In this class we will combine restorative and gentle asanas with breathing awareness and simple breathing techniques. The asana practice will help prepare the body for the prāṇāyāma practice.
A class where you will learn and embody the principles of Pilates: breath, concentration, control, precision, centre and flow. The series of repetitive, mat-based, exercises will help tone postural muscles, develop strength, flexibility, coordination and balance. When practised consistently, Pilates will help improve posture and release back pain.
